BLUENOSE FILM CONTEST DESCRIPTION
 

The BlueNose writing contests are designed to engage every student in a creative activity that will improve their literacy skills and increase their desire to become more effective communicators.

This year’s film contest is based on Walden Media’s upcoming teen movie, "Bandslam", which will be released this coming August in theatres nationwide!

The free standards-based lesson plans (Bandslam 201-208) will help prepare your students to participate in the contest for valuable prizes!

A panel of judges comprised of educators and leaders in film will judge the entries. 
 

BANDSLAM CONTEST CATEGORIES 

(Each student may select one of the following contest category options.)

  1. Write a one-page synopsis of a sequel to Bandslam.
     
  2. Write a one-page new scene that might be included in Bandslam.
     
  3. Write a one-page dialogue between two or more characters in Bandslam.
     
  4. Write a one-page flashback experienced by a character in Bandslam.
     
  5. Write a one-page explanation of how one or more themes underlie Bandslam.
     
  6. Choose your favorite character from Bandslam and explain your choice in one page.
