Backstage Hollywood Coming Soon — May 2010

A 4-day / 3-night behind-the-scenes opportunity for teachers and students to understand how reading and writing skills are applicable to scriptwriting, songwriting, and sports journalism in the entertainment world!
 

Backstage Hollywood takes place on two separate weekends:
 

  • May 13th – 16th, 2010 – Middle/Junior High Schools
     
  • May 20th – 23rd, 2010 – High Schools

     

Sample Activities Include:
 

  • Developing a movie plot while visiting the beach-town of Santa Monica
     
  • Interacting backstage with studio staff members
     
  • Learning from top record producers and engineers about what it takes to make a great record
     
  • Recording students’ original lyrics with a BlueNose artist at Capitol Records … home of such artists as Green Day and Coldplay
     
  • Assuming the role of an entertainment or sports reporter in covering an exclusive celebrity panel presentation … followed by an autograph and photo session
     
  • Visiting the UCLA campus to explore career opportunities and educational requirements
     
  • Sampling the world of sports television broadcasting and reporting at ESPN's Los Angeles headquarters
     
  • Participating in the BlueNose Awards in which winning students will be recognized for their written entries in all their songwriting, screenwriting, and sports reporting activities throughout their three days in Hollywood!

     

Your students will be motivated to read and write!
